Tollesbury Lightship Tea Towel
The Tollesbury Lightship is a historic vessel located in Tollesbury, a village in the English county of Essex. The lightship was built in 1949 and served as a floating lighthouse, guiding ships safely through the waters of the River Thames Estuary and the North Sea.
In 1992, the Tollesbury Lightship was decommissioned and was eventually purchased by a group of enthusiasts who restored it to its former glory. Today, the lightship is open to visitors, who can explore the vessel and learn about its history and the important role it played in maritime navigation.
