The Snaefell Mountain Railway is a historic mountain railway located on the Isle of Man, a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea. The railway is known for its scenic route, which takes passengers from the village of Laxey to the summit of Snaefell, the highest point on the Isle of Man at 2,036 feet above sea level. The railway has been in operation since 1895, making it the oldest mountain railway in the British Isles.
