Eildon Hills Mug
The Eildon Hills are a range of three hills located near the town of Melrose in the Scottish Borders, in the southeastern part of Scotland. The hills are a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
The three hills, named Eildon Hill North, Eildon Hill East, and Eildon Hill West, are each topped with ancient hillforts and are steeped in history and legend. According to local folklore, the hills were once the home of King Arthur's wizard, Merlin, and are said to have been formed from the ashes of a giant who was defeated by a local hero.
