Cardington Airfield Coaster
Cardington Airfield is a former Royal Air Force (RAF) base located near the village of Cardington in Bedfordshire, England. The airfield was originally opened in 1917 as a training base for airship pilots and crew, and was later used during World War II for aircraft assembly and storage.
Today, the airfield is primarily used for commercial purposes, including as a base for hot air balloon operations and as a film location.
One of the most distinctive features of the airfield is its two enormous hangars, which were originally built to house airships. These hangars are some of the largest unsupported structures in the world and are a significant local landmark.
