Bagan Temples Tote Bag
The Bagan Temples are a collection of ancient temples and pagodas located in the plains of central Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). The site covers an area of over 39 square miles and contains over 2,000 structures dating from the 11th and 12th centuries.
The temples and pagodas of Bagan are a testament to the rich cultural and religious heritage of Myanmar. The site was once the center of the Kingdom of Pagan, which ruled over much of what is now Myanmar from the 9th to the 13th century. During this time, the rulers of Pagan built a vast number of temples and pagodas as expressions of their faith and power.
Some of the most famous and well-preserved temples in Bagan include the Ananda Temple, the Dhammayangyi Temple, and the Shwezigon Pagoda. The temples are built in a variety of styles, including Indian, Mon, and Myanmar, and many feature intricate carvings and frescoes depicting scenes from Buddhist mythology.
