Arthur's Seat is an iconic landmark and natural feature located in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is a prominent peak in Holyrood Park, situated in the heart of Edinburgh and adjacent to the Palace of Holyrood House, the official residence of the monarch in Scotland.
Arthur's Seat is the highest peak in Holyrood Park, standing at an elevation of approximately 251 meters. It is a volcanic hill that is a remnant of an extinct volcano that was active over 340 million years ago.
The name "Arthur's Seat" is believed to have originated from the legends and myths associated with King Arthur, although there is no concrete historical evidence to support this claim.
